August 15, 2025 – AccessOn Internet, a local provider of high-speed Internet, celebrated the official opening of its new office in downtown Warrenton with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event brought together community leaders, local officials, and residents to celebrate the company’s growing presence in the region.
AccessOn Internet is working to bring high-speed fiber Internet to residents and businesses across parts of southern Warren and southwestern Halifax counties – a project made possible through the support of a USDA ReConnect grant. The office, located at 107 E Franklin St in the newly renovated Dameron Building, will serve as the company’s operations hub, housing customer service and field staff, and support community engagement.
The ribbon-cutting was attended by numerous local leaders, including Warrenton Mayor Walter Gardner, Commissioners from the Town of Warrenton, Warren County, and Halifax County, Chief Richardson of the Haliwa-Saponi Tribe, and many other local organizations and community members. Their presence underscored the importance of expanding broadband access and the strong partnership between the company and the community.
It has taken the work of a multitude of individuals and organizations working together to reach this point, all in an effort to improve connectivity for members of this community. Town and County leaders voiced their support for the project and the impact it will have on the town, schools, offices, and communities. Halifax County Commissioners Vice Chair Chenoa Richardson Davis acknowledged the significance of improved connectivity in “communities that have been underserved for a long time.” Steve Ledford, AccessOn Networks President and CEO stated, “It has been a long road. Many of you have been here from the beginning. Thank you for your patience and your unwavering support.”
Opening the doors to the office marked an important milestone in the company’s mission towards bringing next-level connectivity and demonstrates its vision towards being a mainstay in the community – building relationships, supporting local initiatives, and growing alongside the people it will serve. AccessOn Internet has also begun building a team of local talent, recently hiring its first two employees from within the community: Marquis Evans, Fiber Technician and Warren County native, and Linda Lee, Communications Specialist and Halifax County native.
“We’re excited to open our doors and get to work delivering the connectivity families and businesses here deserve with local, friendly support for our customers,” said Jan Harris, AccessOn Internet site manager. “Today is about more than opening a building. It’s about opening doors for opportunity, connection, and growth in the places we call home.”
AccessOn Internet is building a 100% fiber-to-the-home network designed to deliver fast, reliable Internet to households and businesses across the region. With service expected to go live in the coming weeks, the ribbon-cutting represents the start of the company’s presence in the area and its readiness to serve. After satisfying the work through the ReConnect grant, the company plans to expand its network within the region.
